Protect PDF with Password

Create a PDF copy that requires an opening password before its contents can be viewed.

Choose a PDF workflow based on the change you actually need. Combining pages, extracting pages, changing document properties and encrypting a file are different operations. Keep an original copy, and open the exported document in a normal PDF reader to check page order, readability and the result of your change.

Choose a unique password and keep a safe copy in a password manager. Share the password through a separate channel from the PDF when practical.
