Choose a PDF workflow based on the change you actually need. Combining pages, extracting pages, changing document properties and encrypting a file are different operations. Keep an original copy, and open the exported document in a normal PDF reader to check page order, readability and the result of your change.

Add the files in their final reading order. Check the first and last pages of each source after merging, particularly when scans use different paper sizes.

Merging combines pages; it does not reduce a scan’s file size or make scanned text searchable. Open-password-protected inputs need to be unlocked first.
